  • Abstract
The influence of atomic order on the macroscopic magnetic and electric characteristics of Fe-Al alloys was studied. From the Mössbauer spectra of samples with various heat and mechanic treatment, probabilities of different configurations of iron atoms were computed. These probabilities and the literature data of magnetic moments in Fe-Al alloys were used for the calculation of magnetic polarization. The results were compared with the experimental values. Information concerning the atomic structure and homogeneity was completed by measurements of the electric resistivity and the coercive force. The validity of the highly localized exchange interaction model for the Fe-Al alloys was confirmed by the relatively good agreement of calculated and measured values. The influence of nearest neighbour atoms was observed to be dominant.
