Abstract
The linearization of nonlinear electrical elements by means of tangent is commonly applied in solving nonlinear electrical networks. Here the linearization is discussed by means of secant (in regula falsi mode) and it is compared with the tangent method. It is shown that by combining the positive properties of both the secant and tangent methods, it is possible to ensure convergence even in case the tangent method alone has been inefficient.
