Abstract
The authors present an analysis of relaxation oscillation in planar and fiber distributed feedback lasers taking into account end reflectivity. The laser characteristics obtained as a function of the system parameter show competition between two different resonators (Fabry-Perot and distributed) as well as the influence of the gain saturation on the parameters describing relaxation oscillations.
