Abstract :
Over 1000 km transmission experiment employing a supercontinuum multi-carrier source (SC-MCS) has been achieved. By equalising both SC spectrum and amplifier gain, a 110/spl times/10 Gbit/s, 25 GHz-spaced, DWDM signal is successfully transmitted over 1040 km (13/spl times/80 km) in the C-band without forward error correction (FEC). With FEC, the transmission length can be extended to over 2000 km (25/spl times/80 km).
