Abstract
This paper deals with an inverse problem for the identification of microstructural features of a steel sheet on the basis of magnetization loops. Three iterative principles for the inverse problem are discussed: the Marquardt method, the Nelder and Mead downhill simplex method, and a genetic algorithm. The direct electromagnetic problem is based on a one-dimensional finite-element method combined with the Preisach model.
