Abstract :
Two weighting algorithms for SPUDT structures have been developed. By being able to approximate a complex-valued time response at one sample per wavelength, these new algorithms can compensate for passband slope and other distortions. A withdrawal-weighting (WW) algorithm has been applied to filters with about 2% fractional bandwidth. For improved stop band rejection, an apodization algorithm has also been developed for the design of wideband CDMA SPUDT filters with up to 5% fractional bandwidth
