Abstract
Some problems identified during the application of several CACSD program packages are discussed. These problems result from the influence of finite word length and finite range arithmetic. Two basic concepts from the numerical analysis-numerical problem conditioning and algorithm stability-are briefly presented. The author examines in detail some examples where the CACSD approach leads to the obviously wrong results.
