Abstract
The experimental isothermal remanent magnetization (I.R.M.) curves for some particulate recording media are compared with the theoretical results obtained in the Classical Preisach (C.P.) model as well as in a Moving Preisach (M.P.) model with a Gaussian or a log-normal distribution of the critical and interaction fields. The differences between the experimental data and the theory are analyzed. Also discussed is the compatibility between the experimental and the simulated I.R.M. curves for a system of Stoner-Wohlfarth particles with a Gaussian distribution of the angle between the easy axis and the direction of the external magnetic field.
