Abstract
First, an overview is provided of the Kii-Channel DC transmission technology, which represents the comprehensive results of the electric power conversion technologies developed in Japan. Next, the environment that surrounds the electric power companies that are undergoing cataclysmic changes will be touched upon, and consideration is given as to whether or not the direction of technological developments so far should be accepted. Finally, the direction of future aims in the coming new age of electric power is sought, thus discussing the expectations of power conversion technology from an electric power company
