Abstract
Modeling gridded guns is one of the principal motivations for the development of the 3D finite element gun code MICHELLE. In addition to computing the effect of grid wires on the electron beam, there is also a desire to perform tolerance studies. We report on recent verification studies which assess the quality of MICHELLE simulations of a gridded gun. Both the accuracy and the qualitative behavior of the gun code will be discussed.
