Abstract :
This paper reports new dual-beam scanning microstrip patch antenna arrays fed by dielectric image lines for millimeter-wave applications. Ka-band microstrip patch antenna arrays with 12 elements are designed, fabricated, and measured. Single-terminal and two-terminal feeding structures are both used to radiate dual beams which are steered by varying frequency. Experiments show good results for both configurations with wide steering angles of 31° and 31.5° from 28.5 GHz to 32.5 GHz for each beam, respectively.
