Abstract
Wavelet theory is becoming a very useful tool to accelerate the analysis of electromagnetic structures. In this work, wavelet theory is applied to an open space 2D scattering problem. Wavelet bases are used to expand the unknown electric current in order to improve the efficiency. A precision and efficiency evaluation is given for a cylinder and a strip scattering scenario in order to assess its advantages versus a traditional implementation of the method of moments (MoM). As a consequence, memory requirements and computational costs are reduced simultaneously. A study considering different moment orders of the Daubechies family is also performed.
