Abstract :
The radiation characteristics of a single-conductor strip leaky-wave antenna is investigated. This structure has only a single-conductor strip on a substrate without a background plane. The broadband characteristics of the first higher order space-wave mode render this structure a broadband antenna. These result in a very wide leaky region. By using the balanced and inverted balanced microstrip lines as a broadband feeding structure, we can excite the first higher order space-wave mode of this structure. Both the simulation and measurement results are presented.
