Abstract :
In this paper, the reduction of carrier-to-interference ratio (C/I) in broadband fixed wireless access networks using beam-switched base station antennas is proposed and studied. The C/I has been evaluated by means of simulation taking into account the cellular reuse pattern proposed by on-going standardization proposals. The influence of both base-station and subscriber station antenna parameters on the obtained C/I values has also been considered. Up to 10 dB C/I improvement is achieved using the proposed beam-switched base station antennas approach.
