Abstract :
This paper describes a new construction of a 20-25 GHz split post dielectric resonator. The dielectric parts of the resonator are made out of single crystal YAG, and an unloaded Q-factor value of about 5000 has been obtained. It has been proven, that using such resonators, it is possible to measure permittivity with an uncertainty of approximately 0.5%, and dielectric loss tangents with a resolution of 5×10-5 for laminar dielectric specimens.
