Abstract
Excitable media, such as the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction or the heart support reentrant waves of excitation. The dynamics of this excitation depends on the properties of the medium, the geometry of the medium and perturbations to the system. Here we discuss the dynamics in ring and annular geometries as well as the effects of single and periodic stimulation of the dynamics.
