The IEE is well aware of the need to publish practical and current papers by practising engineers in order to promote electrical engineering. This is an essential balance to the more theoretical and academic aspects of its work. It is for this reason that a discussion meeting was arranged on the 18th of May 1983 by the professional group P10 (Generation) of the Power Division of the IEE.
