Abstract
Traditional supply chain management utilized traditional media and channels to link firms in linear, inefficient relationships. In the industrial era, most manufacturing companies were vertically integrated, owning their own sources of supply and channels of distribution. The new idea of manufacturing that is mass customization and the current technological revolution are creating new opportunities for further improvements in supply chain management. The paper discusses disadvantages of traditional supply chain management and analyzes the changes coming in the current supply chain management.
