Abstract
This letter describes a new method for estimating the radial component of a ship´s velocity using single-channel synthetic aperture radar data acquired by RADARSAT-1. Unlike previous methods, this approach is applicable in the absence of any visible wakes. Experimental results confirm the robustness of the proposed algorithm.
