Abstract :
We have shown that conditional BER estimation extracted from FEC decoding is suitable for control of a 3-tap feedfoward equalisation (FFE). The acquisition and OSNR performance have been simulated with this type of feedback signal generation. The proposed method provides a cost efficient feedback signal generation.
