Introducing e-commerce and Internet development to organisations

Why do so many Internet based applications run into trouble? Many IT and software developments experience problems, but the level of problems experienced by Internet application developments is far higher, even for relatively simple applications. This paper aims to identify some of the root causes of these phenomena and to provide hints and suggestions of ways to avoid the pitfalls. This paper is aimed at technical managers with little or no experience of Internet application developments.
