Abstract
Many large companies struggle to achieve growth. The tried and trusted ways do not prove to be sufficient any longer. At the same time fuelling growth through "big" innovation has many barriers, from internal organizational structures and funding policies, to very customer and supplier focussed links to the outside world. By combining six approaches at the same time large companies can revitalize themselves and achieve "big" innovation: (a) create an innovation mindset and relax the constraints, (b) find the innovation platforms and exploit them, (c) set up internal and external venture mechanisms, (d) look for the gray spaces between the business units, (e) generate a continuous stream of ideas, and (f) change the metrics.
