Abstract :
Pooled investment across the supply chain is rooted in a shift from minimizing transaction costs across individual firms to maximizing the value created by individual firms competing as networks. Underpinning pooled investment strategies are information technology approaches to capturing and sharing information, real options valuation of technology choices, and an understanding of the time value of information in turbulent environments.
