Abstract
In this paper we consider the robust performance properties of some integrated flight and propulsion controllers for a large transport aircraft, designed using three different H∞ methods. The controller design methods compared are H∞ loop shaping, two-block mixed-sensitivity and four-block mixed-sensitivity. The study provides an interesting practical illustration of the consequences of pole-zero cancellations in certain H∞ control designs.
