Abstract :
This paper presents a solution to tuning linear predictive controllers for non-linear time varying systems based on using benchmarking ideas. The technique is based on estimating analytically the expected total cost for different tuning parameters. The control engineer can then select the parameters that give lower cost. A case study involving the tuning of LQGPC controller for a pH plant is presented.
