Abstract
In this paper, a space-time coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (STC-OFDM) scheme with dual Viterbi decoder is proposed and analyzed. In this scheme, two independent half-rate OFDM symbols are generated after convolutional coding. A dual Viterbi decoder is used for the independent decoding of the recovered sequence, and their path metrics are compared. Accordingly, the recovered binary data is a combination of the sequences which have larger path metrics. The proposed STC-OFDM scheme has better performance than the conventional one for all signal-to-noise ratios.
