  • Abstract
Multi-megawatt energy storage facilities can offer a number of benefits to a utility. Some of these are improved power reliability, transmission stability, frequency regulation, energy arbitrage, and deferral of transmission upgrades. TVA is constructing a Regenesys energy storage facility at Columbus, Mississippi, which will provide several benefits to TVA and will provide a base of experience for future use of energy storage. This presentation gives an overview of TVA´s Columbus Regenesys project and its expected benefits.
