Abstract
CIM XML model exchange presents new challenges for RTOs and ISOs due to the quality and sheer volume of model data being transferred. A significant percentage of modeling problems are extremely difficult to detect without tedious investigation. There is a large class of modeling errors that will pass undetected through traditional validation routines but are instantly made ´visible´ by a one-line created directly from a CIM XML import. This presentation is an overview and demonstration of a one-line generation tool which was developed to quickly verify substation topology and power-flow results following CIM XML document exchange.
