Abstract
This paper studies an adaptive CDMA (code division multiple access) protocol for satellite LEO (low Earth orbit) systems. The new protocol is called S-CDMA (satellite-CDMA). The goal is to integrate several types of traffic (voice and datal) on the channel. This leads to service multiplexing and resource allocation study. New permission probability control functions, are defined to give priority to voice users in order to guarantee its QoS. Resource allocation strategies are studied and compared. A simulation multiplexing the two traffic types is presented in order to determine the best multiplexing technique. The essential performance parameters are the loss probability for voice and data users and the waiting time for data users.
