Abstract
The minimum requirements of the parameters such as the amplitude and phase distribution errors on an antenna aperture are obtained by using the statistical simulation method for 73 elements. From the results, an appropriate beamformer method is selected. Instead of the full system, this paper presents the design and fabrication of the experimental model with 4 channel receivers and four linear array cross dipole antennas for HAPS. The system includes RF subsystem and digital subsystem, which is connected to a PC. The experimental model has 3 beams and can control them by digital beamforming. The radiation beam pattern was measured with 1 center beam and 2 offset beams and compared with calculated values.
