Abstract
The growth of pen-computers and personal digital assistants has made electronic ink a major topic of research. One of the most important problems is searching ink data in previously stored pen-strokes. In this paper we proposed and implemented a matching algorithm of write-dependant ink searching for oriental characters, especially mixed Korean and Chinese characters. Our algorithm is very simple, guaranteeing the performance of matching time for a mobile computer which has limitations of hardware. Various experiments showed a matching rate over 98% for Korean-only scripts and 94% for mixed Korean with Chinese scripts.
