Abstract :
The paper presents considerations on DS-CDMA interference suppression in the presence of bursty TDMA interference when second and third generation cellular systems are present in the same area. We assume that the bursty interference power is well above the DS-CDMA transmission power. The studied areas cover: interference rejection combining; an enhanced version of interference rejection combining; soft weighting principle in combining; automatic gain control considerations. The methods are shown to be good enough for practical purposes.
