Abstract :
The quality of radio astronomical images drastically depends on where we place the radio telescopes. During the design of the very large array, it was empirically shown that the power law design, in which n-th antenna is placed at a distance nβ from the center, leads to the best image quality. In this paper, we provide a theoretical justification for this empirical fact.
