Abstract
The effect of device modeling on a continuation method used to determine the large signal voltage and current waveforms of a nonlinear circuit is investigated. It is found that modeling the nonlinear element in such a way that the resulting waveform balance error function is continuously differentiable greatly enhances the performance of the algorithm.
