Simple method for computation of a minimal representation of a system in state space

A simple and efficient method for obtaining a minimal representation of a multivariable system in state space is described. It uses a method very similar to that given by N. Munro and R.S. McLeod (1971). In comparison with that method, the same numerical stability but with smaller storage requirement were achieved, partly owing to the use of the Givens transformation.
