Abstract :
Multihop wireless ad hoc networks can be integrated into the Internet by a gateway discovery. In this process, the Internet routes are established by propagating control messages generated by the gateways. If the nodes maintaining the optimal routes to the gateway are the only ones forwarding these messages, the network performance improves. However, determining the optimal routes is a complex process owing to the uncertainty given by the mobility of the nodes. Fuzzy logic can help determine the most stable routes basing on uncertain and noisy information. Proposed is a fuzzy logic based control system to identify the routes which are expected to endure longer (i.e. the optimal ones). This identification allows the system to optimise the gateway discovery.
