  • Abstract
Examination of microstructure and magnetic properties of amorphous (Fe1 Cox)79 Mo8 Cu1 B12 alloys (x = 1,2 and 3) are performed by combination of analytical techniques. Chemical composition of the investigated samples was tested by laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). Mossbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry investigation have proved full amorphicity of the as-quenched alloys. Good soft magnetic properties as well as low core losses were found for the sample containing 39.5 at. % Co (x = 1). Moreover, results obtained from simulation of choke cores made from (Fe1Co1)79Mo8Cu1B12 and FINEMET-type alloys are compared.
