Abstract :
In this work, the capabilities of clustering-based receivers for potential application in a multicarrier environment are explored. In particular, we have examined the possibility to use the pilot symbol inserted in an OFDM frame to help the receiver in case of phase rotations introduced by the transmission system. The algorithm has also been successfully tested with a channel introducing severe intersymbol interference. In all cases there is a strong gain that allows usage of modulations at least one order of magnitude greater at a very limited additional computational cost.
