Abstract
The idea of employing distance-map based or k-d tree based alignment algorithms with affine or rigid transformations are explored for mammographic evaluations. Accuracy measurements show that both the k-d based and the distance-map based algorithms with affine transformations have the capability to "align" mammogram pairs successfully if the nipples are removed.
