Front Cover: The IEEE AESS Pioneer Award for 2012 has been awarded to Asad M. Madni, President & Chief Operating Officer (Retired) of BEI Technologies, Inc. and Distinguished Adjunct Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, UCLA for "seminal and pioneering contributions to the development and commercialization of aerospace electronic systems." Formal presentation of the award was made at the DASC Awards Luncheon, October 17, 2012, Williamsburg, VA, USA. Back Cover: In February 2011, IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine published an insert about our Junior Engineering and Science Conference that has been held annually for over fifteen years. To illustrate the content of the conference, several selected papers were included together with a photograph of the participants. It was for this insert that we received the APEX 2012 Award for Publication Excellence for the category One-of-a-Kind-Print publications. Reprints of the insert are available.
