Abstract :
The possibility of application of the tomography method and spectrum filtering for image reconstruction of cross-sections of different inhomogeneities, taking place under the plane surface of a medium, has been studied. The spectral approach, use of the information contained in the near field of a scattering object and the opportunity to use the tomography algorithm in the case of strongly absorbing environments have allowed an essential improvement in the quality of restored images and have expanded the application area of subsurface tomography. The results can find application in the design of tomography systems for visualisation of subsurface targets.
