Abstract
A novel all-optical 2R regenerator has been demonstrated using nonlinear polarization rotation in a single linear semiconductor optical amplifier (LOA). The features of simple configuration, stable operation and high regenerative capabilities make this new scheme a promising technique for all-optical regeneration in future optical networks.
