Abstract :
A method of calculation of the inductances of an induction machine is proposed. The skewing of the rotor bars of the machine and the resultant linear rise of MMF across the slot, together with the nonsinusoidal distribution of the stator winding are taken into account. The method is based on the winding function approach, which allows for all harmonics of the MMF to be taken into account. The results obtained by the proposed method have been compared with those obtained by a conventional manner, which take into account the above phenomena by means of scale factors applied to the harmonics. A very good agreement between them is demonstrated.
