Abstract :
A cochlear implant is an electronic device that bypasses a non-functional inner ear by stimulating hearing nerves with patterns of electrical currents pulses, so that a speech can be experienced by profoundly deaf people. This paper describes a method of implementing virtual electrodes in Nucleusreg 24 Cochlear Implant. The creating of virtual electrodes was verified in Frequency Discrimination Tool written in Matlab programming system. Finally the results of tests on patients are presented.
