Abstract :
Extensive study of skin tumors diagnosis was performed involving combined Raman spectroscopy and autofluorescence analysis in visible and near infrared regions. Proposed Raman spectroscopy phase method allows to reach 88.5% of accuracy for ex vivo skin cancer (malignant melanoma) diagnosis. Autofluorescence analysis in NIR region increases the specificity by 11%. Adding of autofluorescence analysis in visible region allows to increase final accuracy by 3-5%. Registration of autofluorescence in NIR region is realized in one unit with Raman spectroscopy. Thus, the proposed method allows detect the tumor presence rapidly using the AF determination of its boundary and determines tumor type. The high efficiency and speed of the performing study indicate the potential capabilities of the method for malignant melanoma detection with high accuracy, more than 95%.
