Abstract :
The paper presents an algorithm and a programme for monitoring and supervisory control, as a part of a SCADA system, for automatic control of the fed-batch fermentation process for the production of yeast, using a Personal Computer, a B Braun Biostat® C Lab scale fermentation unit and a LabVIEW™ as driver software. Hardware and software parts for data acquisition and set point changes of the control systems are described and discussed. LabVIEW™ code is presented. The programme automates the operation of the lab scale fermentation unit. It is safe, stable and operational.
