Abstract :
The goal of NASA´s Oceanic Processes Program is to develop a scientific basis for and to demonstrate the utility of viewing the oceans from space. At the present time, three flight projects in planning which relate to the oceanic area are: the Dynamic Ocean Topography Experiment (TOPEX), the Gravity Satellite (GRAVSAT), and a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) mission. In addition, studies are underway investigating the feasibil ity of flying oceanographic sensors on operational meteorological satellites.
