Abstract :
Increased acceptance of several new oceanographic flow sensors such as Coastal Ocean Dynamics Applications Radar (CODAR), Doppler backscatter profilers, the InterOcean S-4, the Smart ACM and others have renewed our interest in flow measurement techniques and methods of data interpretation. Several areas exist in which the oceanographic current meter community might begin to establish guidelines or "standard". Specific problem areas are discussed, and some specific solutions are recommended.
