Abstract
Presents a two-degree-of-freedom (2 DOF) PID controller with fuzzy logic compensation for an industrial process control system. First, a 2 DOF PID controller is designed for a nominal case according to the given command tracking and disturbance rejection specifications. Then the nominal model is used as the reference model, the 2 DOF PID controller is augmented by a model error-driven fuzzy compensation mechanism to reduce the effects of parameter variations on the desired performances. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is demonstrated by simulation results for a typical process control plant.
