Abstract
We present a time-domain method for estimating the number and delay times for overlapping signals with a priori known shape, from noisy observations received by a sensor. The method is based on a recently developed eigenstructure technique for multiple direction finding with sensor arrays and exploits the structure of the received signal covariance matrix. The method presented also solves more general problems of signal detection and resolution.
